SAVANNAH, GA - Chris Oliver threw seven scoreless innings as the BlueClaws blanked Savannah 4-0 on Saturday night at Grayson Stadium.

The win puts the BlueClaws at 12-11, back over .500 for the first time since they were 5-4. They have taken the first two games of this four-game series with the SandGnats (7-15). The BlueClaws have allowed one run in the first two games of the series and Saturday's win was their second shutout of the season.

Oliver's seven innings were a career-high and he struck out a career-high six hitters. It's the sixth time already this year the BlueClaws starter has thrown at least seven innings (it happened six times in the first half last year).

The BlueClaws got on the board on the first inning for the third straight day. With two outs, and Malquin Canelo at 2nd after a walk and a steal, Rhys Hoskins doubled him in to put the BlueClaws up 1-0.

Lakewood added to their lead in the 4th inning when Carlos Tocci singled and stole second. Hoskins drove him in with an RBI single to put Lakewood up 2-0. Tocci's stolen base was his 8th, without begin caught, this year. He had 10 in 21 attempts with the BlueClaws last year.

Lakewood added to their lead in the 7th inning. After Savannah starter Josh Prevost departed with two runners on base, Jimmy Duff came in and gave up successive RBI singles to Cord Sandberg and Carlos Tocci, both with two outs.

Tocci went 3-4, his 5th three-hit game of the year, and stole two bases, giving him eight in eight attempts after he stole 10 last year. Hoskins went 2-4, extending his hitting streak to eight games in the process (13-31).

Jesen Therrien got the last six outs for the BlueClaws.

The BlueClaws and SandGnats continue their series on Sunday at 2:05. LHP Elniery Garcia (1-2) starts for Lakewood opposite RHP Martires Arias (2-0).
