Hershey Bears News Release
Playing against each other for nearly 50 years, the BEARS and the Rochester Americans renew their long-standing rivalry tonight at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester.
HERSHEY enters the weekend with just 12 games remaining in the 2004-05 regular season following a narrow 3-2 loss to Portland at home Wednesday night. While the BEARS look for points in Rochester, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is on the road tonight at Bridgeport. The Penguins hold down fourth place in the East Division with seven more points than the BEARS, and also have two games in hand.
The task for HERSHEY tonight is a tough one, with Rochester currently possessing the top record in the American Hockey League. The Amerks are 48-11-4-6 overall, including a 26-5-3-2 record at Blue Cross Arena this season. Tom Lawson is expected to draw the start tonight for HERSHEY in goal.
Tonight's game can be heard via the BEARS radio network beginning at 7:15 p.m. this evening. John Walton has the call of the action from western New York State.
