On Thursday, Danny Groulx scored twice as Manitoba rallied past St. John's, 6-4.

LOOKING AHEAD:
The playoff race in the North Division takes center stage this weekend as Syracuse travels to Cleveland and Hamilton heads to Edmonton, both for two-game series on Friday and Saturday nights... The Crunch, Bulldogs and Road Runners enter the weekend in a deadlock for fourth place in the North, with the Barons just two points back... Syracuse is 11-1-1-0 lifetime at Gund Arena, including wins in each of its last eight visits... Brad Moran picked up four points on Wednesday to move into a tie for the Crunch's all-time scoring lead... Ryane Clowe has scored 10 goals in his last 13 games for Cleveland... Patrick Rissmiller has 16 points in 17 games since returning from injury to the Barons' lineup... Edmonton is back Rexall Place after playing 17 of its previous 19 games away from home (2-11-1-5)... Team scoring co-leaders Tony Salmelainen and Raffi Torres are among five Road Runners who reached the Calder Cup Final with Hamilton in 2003... Bulldogs rookie Yann Danis is 6-1-1 in eight appearances against Edmonton.
Providence entertains Worcester on Friday night in another game with playoff implications... The Bruins trail the IceCats by two points for the final postseason spot in the Atlantic Division... Worcester has won five of six meetings with the B's this year, holding Providence to just eight goals in the season series... Peter Sejna had a hat trick in the IceCats' 5-2 win over the Bruins on Mar. 12, but Worcester has lost three in a row since then... Hannu Toivonen returned from a month on the injured list and made 20 saves in Providence's 1-0 loss to Manchester on Mar. 20.
Grand Rapids heads to Texas for an important three-game weekend, including contests against Houston on Friday and Sunday... The Griffins come in three points behind the Aeros for fourth place in the West Division... Grand Rapids is 10-7-1-0 since Greg Ireland took over as head coach on Feb. 10... Joey MacDonald has made 14 straight starts and 21 consecutive appearances in goal for the Griffins... The Aeros have won five of their last six games at the Toyota Center... Houston rookie Josh Harding has allowed a total of two third-period goals in 12 home appearances this season.
