
Olauson Earns First Win as FireAntz Coach

[Fayetteville, NC]- The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) won Saturday night, 2-0, on 30 saves by goaltender Peter Skoggard earning new Head Coach, Emery Olauson, his first victory for the FireAntz.
Olauson, who was hired by the club on Tuesday, February 4th, was behind the bench for his first game Saturday night. The FireAntz got out to a quick 1-0 lead on a goal by Kyle McNeil (8th), just 1:41 into the first period. The score would remain 1-0 as the FireAntz outshot the RiverKings 17-8 in the frame.
In a near stalemate of a second period there would be no scoring as the teams each had 10 shots on goal. With the RiverKings pouring on the pressure, goaltender Peter Skoggard turned aside all 12 shots he faced in the third period. McNeil (2nd, 9th) added an empty-netter for the FireAntz 2-0 victory.
"The team looked really sharp tonight on both ends of the ice." President/ General Manager Kevin MacNaught said, "It was a big win for us and it's definitely something we can build on moving forward."
The next FireAntz home game is tomorrow night, Tuesday, February 11th.
