TODAY'S MATCHUPS

LH Sam Narron (3-0, 3.62) vs. RH Dustin Nippert (4-1, 4.21)

Narron- Allowed 2 R on 7 H over 7.1 IP with 4 K and 1 BB in 6/03 ND vs. IWA (3-2 IWA)

Nippert- Pitched three relief innings of shutout ball in 6/05 win @ NOZ (0 R on 2 H with 0 BB and 5 K)

LAST GAME: The RedHawks were shutout for the third two this season, falling 3-0 in the last game of the four-game set at New Orleans. The Zephyrs scored once in the second and twice in the fifth for the win. Kason Gabbard took the loss in his second RedHawk start. Oklahoma managed seven hits, but were all seven were singles. The Zephyrs outscored the RedHawks 15-11 during the series, winning the last three.

COMPANY AT THE TOP: Oklahoma is now tied with New Orleans atop the standings in the American South. The RedHawks held sole position of first place for 60 consecutive days. Oklahoma and New Orleans were tied for first entering play on April 9, but had sole possession by the end of the day. The RedHawks were in the midst of a four-game sweep of Nashville at the time.

DURAN RECALLED: German Duran was recalled to Texas prior to yesterday's game and was in the Rangers lineup for their game with Tampa Bay. Duran batted ninth and went one for four with a two-run home run. In his most recent stint with the RedHawks, the infielder hit .269 with one home run and four runs batted in over eight games. Former RedHawk Elizrdo Ramirez was designated for assignment to make room for Duran. Ramirez made one appearance for Texas, allowing nine runs on eight hits while taking the loss on June 4 against Cleveland.

GORDON PROMOTED:

The Rangers promoted Brian Gordon to Oklahoma earlier today from Frisco. The right-hander began the season with Double-A Corpus Christi in the Astros organization, but only made one appearance, allowing one run on two hits over two innings pitched on April 7 and was released on April 10. Texas signed Gordon on April 22 and assigned him to Frisco. He went 2-0 for the RoughRiders with an ERA of 0.00, having pitched 22 innings while allowing only one unearned run. Gordon was selected by Arizona in the seventh round of the 1997 draft and began his career as an outfielder. He converted from the outfield to the mound last season.

NASHVILLE AT A GLANCE:

The Sounds enter play tonight in fourth place in their division, eight games behind Iowa in the American North... Vinny Rotino has the longest active hitting streak in the PCL, currently at 17 straight... Laynce Nix has the second longest current road hitting streak in the league at 11 games, two behind Iowa's Eric Patterson... Nashville won seven games during April (7-18), 16 in May (16-14), and are 4-3 so far this month.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION:

Texas doubled up Tampa Bay 6-3... Frisco edged Midland 6-5 in 12 innings... Bakersfield held on to beat San Jose 8-7... Clinton lost 9-7 at Peoria.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

The RedHawks hit .212 during the four-game series with 28 hits in 132 at bats. Oklahoma managed three solo home runs during the trip. The RedHawks went 3-31 with runners in scoring position in New Orleans, from Thursday to Sunday going 1-6, 1-12, 1-7 and 0-6 respectively... Ryan Roberts is riding a seven-game on-base streak, while Nelson Cruz has reached base in 11 straight...

TIME CHANGE:

The RedHawks have announced a time change that differs from what is listed on pocket schedules and previously printed tickets. Oklahoma's game with Round Rock on Monday, June 23 at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark is now a 7:05 pm first pitch.

Every game this season can be heard on the RedHawks Radio Network, led by broadcaster Jim Byers for the ninth season, and joined by Adam Marco during each homestand. Fox Sports Radio AM 1340 in Oklahoma City will serve as the flagship station in 2008.
