TODAY'S OPPONENT:

The Nashville Sounds are the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. Last year, Nashville finished tied for first in the PCL's American North Division with a 76-68 record. The Sounds won division title by tie-breaker over Iowa

TODAY'S GAME:

Game 14 of the season, and third game of four-game series with Nashville.

ROSTER MOVES:

RHP Steve Rowe joins Oklahoma from Frisco, and RHP Doug Mathis transferred to Frisco.

LAST GAME:

Sounds won second game of series 9-2. Sounds took control of the game in the fourth inning when catcher Vinny Rottino hit a three-run home run to put the Sounds up 5-1. Oklahoma starter Doug Mathis (0-3) took the loss allowing eight earned runs on eight hits in five innings. Nashville starter Chris Oxspring (1-1) earned the win allowing one run on six hits in five innings.

VS. NASHVILLE:

Nashville took two of three from the RedHawks last week in Nashville. The RedHawks won the series opener 7-2. The RedHawks hit .255 against Nashville in three games. The pitching staff had an ERA of 3.24 against Sound hitters coming into this series.

PITCHING MATCHUP:

Alfredo Simon will make his third start of the season for the RedHawks. Simon won his last start against Memphis on Saturday. Simon allowed only two runs on two hits in eight strong innings. Nashville will send Yovani Gallardo to the hill. Gallardo is second in the PCL with 19 strikeouts.

LEAVING THEM LOADED:

The RedHawks are still looking for their first hit with the bases loaded (0-12) with three RBIs this season. Yesterday they were 0-for-2 with an RBI by way of a walk.

LOOKING FOR LONG BALL:

RedHawks are tied for last in the PCL with Tucson with only four total home runs on the season. Last season, RedHawks hit 20 home runs in April.

RAMON VAZQUEZ:

Over the last three games, 2B Ramon Vazquez is 6-for-12 with four doubles, five runs scored and an RBI. Vazquez's average has risen from .219 to .295 coming into tonight's game.

GETTING ON BASE:

CF Freddy Guzman has reached base in ten consecutive games by hit or walk. Guzman went 1-for-4 with a walk yesterday.

PEN STREAK ENDS ON FIRST HOMER:

'Hawk relievers hadn't allowed a home run coming into yesterday's game, but with a scoreless inning streak up to 17, both streaks came to an end when Wes Littleton gave up a home run to Brad Nelson in the ninth inning. The bullpen's ERA is stil just 0.93 on the season.

BIG INNING BITES STARTERS:

'Hawk starters have had trouble avoiding the big inning this season. They've allowed three or more runs in an inning nine times this season. The Sounds scored three runs in the fourth and fifth innings yesterday against Mathis. The starters are 3-6 combined with a 4.73 ERA.

DOT-DOT-DOT

: The RedHawks went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position yesterday ... They are hitting .164 (19-116) on the season
