HEAD COACHES: Jeff Jarnigan enters his second season as head coach of the Yard Dawgz. Last season he led the team to a 10-6 regular season record and a first round playoff appearance. Prior to taking over the head coaching duties in Oklahoma City, Coach Jarnigan served as the defensive coordinator for the Austin Wranglers (AFL) during the 2004 season. From 2001 through 2003 Coach Jarnigan was the defensive coordinator for the Tulsa Talons. Under his defense the team won two National Conference Central Division Championships and the ArenaCup in 2003.
Alexander, a 41 year0old native of Broken Arrow, Okla., joins the Talons for his second season as Head Coach. Prior to becoming a Head Coach, Alexander was the Talons' General Manager and spent ten years in the National Football League (NFL). Alexander was drafted as a center in the fifth round of the NFL draft. In the NFL (1987-1996), Alexander spent his first eight years with the Philadelphia Eagles and his last two years with the New York Jets. Alexander started 108 consecutive games and never missed one NFL game. He was honored as New York Times All0Pro in 1991. In his NFL career, Alexander was one of few players who had played all five offensive line positions.
LAST SERIES MEETING: The Tulsa Talons lost to the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz 50-57 on July 30, 2005 in Oklahoma City.
