RedHawks Continue Road Stretch at Iowa-- The Oklahoma City RedHawks continue an eight-game road trip with game three of a four-game series at Principal Park in Des Moines, Iowa against the Iowa Cubs...The RedHawks lead the season series against Iowa 4-1, including a 3-0 series sweep July 4-6 at RedHawks Field at Bricktown...The RedHawks were 5-2 in the homestand prior to the All-Star Break and have now won six of their last nine games...Each of the five wins in the previous homestand were decided by two runs or less, including four one-run wins...The RedHawks play road game number 51 tonight, posting a 21-29 record in road games...Oklahoma City enters Friday in fourth place in the American Southern division, 14.0 games behind first place Round Rock and 6.0 games behind third place New Orleans...Iowa enters Thursday in fourth place in the American Northern division, 8.0 games back of first place Omaha and 1.5 games back of third place Nashville...
Tonight's Probable Pitchers-- RedHawks starter Sergio Perez (17GS, 4-7, 4.12ERA) makes his second start following a disabled list stint (achilles)...Last time out, Perez allowed a solo home run and five other hits in six innings without a decision against Omaha on July 8...Perez enters tonight's start ranking ninth in the PCL in ERA (4.12)...Perez has thrown 10 wild pitches, two off the league pace (12-Frankie De La Cruz-NASH) and has hit 10 batters, also two off the league high (12-P.J. Walters-MEM)...Cubs starter Casey Coleman (6GS, 2-2, 4.25ERA) makes his second appearance since another return to Iowa from Chicago (11G, 9GS, 2-4, 7.23ERA)...Coleman started the season in Chicago, making eight consecutive starts before moving to the bullpen for one appearance and moving to Iowa...Coleman returned to Chicago for a start on July 4 at Washington, but did not factor in the decision and was again returned to Iowa...
Last Game: July 15- Iowa 7, Oklahoma City 1-- Jay Jackson delivered seven solid innings while Bryan LaHair and Ryan Flaherty each hit two-run home runs leading the Iowa Cubs to a 7-1 win over the Oklahoma City RedHawks before 12,623 Friday night at Principal Park...The LaHair home run capped off a three-run first inning for Iowa, while Flaherty's blast scored a pair of runs in the fifth to secure a 5-0 lead...The RedHawks lone run came in the sixth inning when Drew Locke grounded into a double play with the bases loaded...Iowa added a pair of seventh inning runs, one on a Castillo single and another on an error by left fielder J.B. Shuck...After the 4.0 inning start for Hennessey, the RedHawks used four different relievers at one inning each...Seven different RedHawks recorded one hit in last night's loss...
Best of Times, Worst of Times-- The RedHawks have turned 106 double plays in 2011, tied for the most in the PCL (Salt Lake-106)... Oklahoma City committed two more errors in last night's game, both from J.B. Shuck...In the series the RedHawks have committed eight errors, increasing their total to 89 (6th-most PCL-106-Tucson)...
Hernandez Hot in Iowa-- Anderson Hernandez was 1x3 last night, improving to 4x7 in the current series at Iowa...In nine plate appearances, Hernandez has reached base seven times in the series (4 hits, 3 walks)...
Towles Since Option-- J.R. Towles is 4x13 since his option from Houston, including a 1x4 game last night...Towles was batting .189 with 3 HR and 10 RBI in 42 games of action with the Astros in 2011...Behind the plate, Towles has caught 1/3 of the runners attempting to steal against him, with 4 caught stealing and 8 stolen bases against with OKC...
