Zephyrs lose to Omaha 9-5, snap six game win streak

Papillion, NE - The Zephyrs six game win streak came to an end on Saturday night in Nebraska. Omaha overcame an early 3-0 deficit and scored six runs in the fifth inning to defeat New Orleans 9-5 in front of 5,119 fans at Werner Park.

The Z's scored three first inning runs getting a hits-bats men, a walk and a RBI single for Mike Cervenak. Matt Dominguez added a two out RBI double to put the Zephyrs up 3-0. Omaha answered with a run in the bottom of the first and a run in the third inning.

The Storm Chasers sent nine batters to the plate in the fifth inning and scored six runs on four hits. Mike Aviles picked up three hits and four RBI and Clint Robinson added a pair of RBI.

Omaha starter Sean O'Sullivan pitched seven innings and earned his second win for the Chasers. He allowed four runs on seven hits and struck-out five. Z's starter Sean West exited in the fifth inning and allowed 6 runs on seven hits and suffered his sixth loss of the season.

The Zephyrs are 2-1 on the trip and snapped a six game win streak.
