Oklahoma City Blue News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Oklahoma City Blue (3-3) fell to the Texas Legends (3-3), 127-116, on Saturday night.
Oklahoma City trailed 96-88 going into the fourth, after trailing by as many as 21 points in the third quarter. The Blue tried to battle back in the fourth quarter, but an 8-0 run by the Legends extended their lead to 18 with just over four minutes to play, giving Texas its first home win of the season.
Sedrick Barefield scored seven points during Oklahoma City's 14-4 run to close the third quarter and finished with 12 points. Two-way player Luguentz Dort led the Blue with 32 points on 10-of-14 shooting while Justin Patton shot 6-of-8 from the floor to total 13 points and 8 rebounds while on assignment from the Thunder.
Texas jumped out to an 18-2 lead in the first quarter, but the Blue bounced back and only trailed 37-26 heading into the second quarter. Oklahoma City's DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell scored eight points to lead the Blue in the frame.
Akoon-Purcell finished just short of a double-double with 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists, one of six Blue players in double figures.
Both teams tallied 45 rebounds apiece, but Oklahoma City scored 14 second-chance points to the Legends' 10. The Blue shot a season-high 89.5 percent from the free throw line.
The Legends were led by guard Dakota Mathias, who scored 21 points including four three-pointers.
Oklahoma City plays next on Nov. 30 against the Memphis Hustle at 7 p.m. in the Landers Center.
