Tulsa Oilers News Release

TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Oilers announced the signing of defenseman Andrew Eastman on Wednesday. Eastman will make his debut when the Oilers visit St. Charles on Wednesday night at Family Arena.

A native of Aurora, Ontario, Eastman started the 2013-14 season in San Francisco (ECHL) where he played two games for the Bulls. The 5-11, 182-pound blue-liner spent the previous two seasons at the University of Western Ontario where he led all defensemen in scoring during the 2011-12 campaign with three goals and 14 assists in 25 games. Prior to his collegiate career, Eastman played the 2009-10 season in Germany where he made 15 appearances for the Landshut Cannibals of the 2nd Bundesliga and played in 30 contests for Bad Toelz EC of the Oberliga. The 24-year old played two years of major-junior hockey with the Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL) and the Barrie Colts (OHL).

"Andrew is young, skilled defenseman who has been a consistent performer at every level of hockey," commented Oilers Head Coach Bruce Ramsay. "I think he'll be able to contribute offensively for us and I'm looking forward to seeing him in action for the first time."

The Oilers, winners of nine of their last 11 games, have made several roster moves as they begin a three-game road trip. Ryan Menei, Tulsa's leading scorer from a year ago, has been activated off the 30-day injured reserve and will suit up for just the fourth time this season on Wednesday night. Forward Alexandre Beauregard and defenseman Jarred Mohr have both been granted leave by the league while defenseman Ryan Barlock remains on the IR.

Tulsa clashes with St. Charles on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. before traveling to Missouri on Friday and closing out the week with a trip to Quad City on Saturday.

The Oilers return home on December 6 to take on the Arizona Sundogs at 7:35 p.m. at the BOK Center.
