Kelowna, BC: Even a two goal performance from Tomas Vincour could not get the Edmonton Oil Kings on the winning track. The Kelowna Rockets got two goals from the newly acquired Geordie Wudrick and skated to a 4-2 victory.

"I thought Tomas Vincour was tremendous tonight and really stepped it up," said Oil Kings Head Coach Steve Pleau. "Unfortunately, four second period penalties got us behind and we couldn't scratch out a goal down the stretch to tie it up."

The Rockets capitalized on an early first period two on one rush when Max Adolph wristed one through the legs of Oil Kings starter Cam Lanigan. Late in the period, the Oil Kings tied things up shorthanded when Michael Burns sent Vincour away on a breakaway. The Dallas Stars draft pick made no mistake on a backhand deke and scored his team leading 15th goal, and the Oil Kings first shorthanded marker of the year.

Kelowna grabbed the lead eight and a half minutes into the second period when Wudrick scored on a goal mouth scramble while the Rockets were a man up. It was the fourth goal for the big forward since coming over from the Swift Current Broncos.

The Oil Kings evened it up in the third when Vincour scored his second of the night, redirecting a Dylan Wruck shot past Rockets goaltender Adam Brown. The Rockets got the lead back when Wudrick gobbled up a rebound off a shot from Spencer Main and fired home what would be the game winner half way through the third. Brett Bulmer added an empty net goal to close out a 4-2 Rockets win.

The Oil Kings (8-15-4-4) struggles continue as they have only managed three points in their last seven games.

Edmonton's six game road trip reaches the half way point in Vancouver with a game against the Giants on Saturday night. The B.C. leg of the trip wraps up with a game in Cranbrook against the Kootenay Ice next Wednesday. Edmonton then travels to Saskatchewan for a game against the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday, December 11th. The Oil Kings road trip will wrap up in Manitoba with a contest against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday, December 12th.
