Oil Kings Announce 2023-24 Promotional Schedule

(Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Oil Kings are excited to reveal 12 theme games as part of their promotional schedule for the 2023-24 regular season.

Headlining the promotional schedule will be the Oil Kings 16th annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Brick on Friday, December 1 against the Everett Silvertips at 7:00 PM in support of 630 CHED Santas Anonymous. This season, it is expected that the Oil Kings and their fans will eclipse 150,000 all-time bears collected as the total currently sits at 146,930.

On Thanksgiving Monday, the Oil Kings will host a special Thanksgiving Day matinee in support of Edmonton's Food Bank. Fans are encouraged to bring boxes of macaroni and cheese to use as noisemakers during the game and then can donate them on their way out. There will be food hampers setup on the concourse for fans to donate any and all non-perishable food items during game, and cash donations will be accepted as well.

In addition, the Oil Kings are bringing back the always popular "Star Wars Night" game, along with rolling out several new theme nights including "An Elvis Afternoon" where the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive special edition Elvis sunglasses and all fans in attendance will be treated to plenty of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's greatest hits throughout the game and may even get an appearance from the King himself.

The Oil Kings signature Family Fun Sundays, featuring the always popular Concourse Carnival, will return to Rogers Place for a record 12 Sunday home games starting Sunday, October 1 vs. the Lethbridge Hurricanes. All Sunday games are scheduled for 4:00 PM starts except for Sunday, November 5 against the Medicine Hat Tigers and Sunday, March 17 against the Swift Current Broncos, both those games are scheduled for 6:00 PM.

Of the Oil Kings 34 home games this season, 29 of them (85%) will be played on a Friday (8), Saturday (7), Sunday (12) or a holiday Monday (2).

Tickets for all Oil Kings home games go on sale this Wednesday, September 13. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to the Oil Kings social media channels and website for further details.
