WEEK IN REVIEW

The Oilers and Americans clashed in their season series finale on Tuesday at the BOK Center and Allen winger Chad Costello chipped in two goals and an assist to lead his squad to a decisive 5-1 victory. The Americans won four straight games to close out the season series with the Oilers and won 12 of the 17 meetings overall.

Friday night against Missouri, the Oilers scored four goals in the first period and held off a Mavericks' surge to earn a 6-4 win at the BOK Center. Kyle Bochek and Ricards Birzinsh both dished out three assists while rookie forward Phil Brewer notched his first multi-goal game as a pro to propel Tulsa to two important points.

In the regular season home finale on Saturday night, the Oilers were unable to build on a 2-1 first period lead and dropped a 5-3 decision to the Mavericks. Sebastien Thinel posted a four point outing (1 goal, 3 assists) and Andrew Courtney scored twice for Missouri while netminder Brandon Jaeger earned a win in his pro debut. Jeff Jubinville had two goals for Tulsa as the Oilers concluded the season series against the Mavs with only two wins in ten games.

CUT AND DRY

The Oilers will clinch the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division with a win over the Wichita Thunder on Wednesday night. If the Oilers falter on Wednesday, they can still lock up a postseason berth with a win in Wichita on Friday night.

EXTENDING THE SEASON

If the Oilers can find their way into the postseason this week, they will appear in the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2000 and 2001 when they were led by Head Coach Shaun Clouston.

CAN IT CONTINUE?

The season series between Tulsa and Wichita has been one-sided in the Oilers' favor. Tulsa has claimed victory in 10 of the 12 previous match-ups and has won four straight meetings against its long-time rival. For the second year in a row, the Oilers have clinched the StoneWolf Casino Cup which is awarded to the winner of the season series. Tulsa has outscored Wichita 47-27 and rookie goalie Kevin Carr, who has been in net for every game against the Thunder, has posted a goals against average of 1.98 and a save percentage of .936 in the series.

PACKING THE HOUSE

With 12,784 hockey fans in the BOK Center on Friday, the Oilers recorded the second-largest crowd in the ECHL this season and the second-largest hockey crowd in the history of the BOK Center. Only the Cincinnati Cyclones, who welcomed 12,825 on January 3, have drawn a higher number of fans. The Oilers' average attendance of 5,479 is the highest total since the 1994-95 season (6,423) and ranks fifth in the entire ECHL.

NOBLE TO OKC

Defenseman Kevin Noble received his first call up to the AHL on Tuesday when he signed a PTO with the Oklahoma City Barons. Noble, who attended training camp with the Barons, is the second Oiler to be called up to Oklahoma City this season. Forward Tommy Mele appeared in three games for the Barons earlier this season. Noble, 27, is in his third year as a pro and has appeared in 65 games this season for the Oilers.

600 CLUB

Jon Booras, the Oilers' 32-year old center, will appear in his 600th career game on Wednesday in Wichita. The native of Billings, Montana began his career in 2005-06 with the Muskegon Fury (UHL) and has played for six teams in five leagues over the course of his nine-year run in pro hockey. Through 599 games, Booras has 593 points (229 goals, 364 assists) and 594 penalty minutes. This season, his first in Tulsa, Booras ranks third on the squad in points (63), second in goals (25), and second in assists (38).

ROOKIES RISING TO THE OCCASION

In Friday's win over Missouri, rookie winger Phil Brewer recorded the first multi-goal game of his young career with goals in the first period and third period. Brewer, recently signed out of Bemidji State University, has four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in just nine games as a pro player. Stephen Perfetto, a Lake Superior State University product who made his debut with Brewer on March 21, had assists in both games last weekend and has five assists through his first eight games.

EXTRA DROPS

Jeff Jubinville is tied for the rookie goal-scoring lead (30) and ranks third among all ECHL rookies with 60 points...Brady Ramsay is fifth among all ECHL rookies with 12 major penalties...The Oilers earned their 35th win of the season last Friday and have tied the highest win total of the Bruce Ramsay era...Kevin Noble appeared in his 100th pro game last Friday.
