April 7, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (April 7, 2015) - The Quad City Mallards will close the 2014-15 regular season with Fan Appreciation Night when the Mallards meet the Tulsa Oilers Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. at the iWireless Center. The Mallards will thank the fans of the Quad Cities for their support with a host of giveaways and will kick off the evening with the performing of The Star Spangled Banner by renowned Chicago-based national anthem singer Jim Cornelison.
Cornelison, who is well known for his performances of the anthem before Chicago-area sporting events- including hockey games- is an accomplished opera singer who has performed with the likes of Placido Domingo and Zubin Mehta and has sung with opera companies around the world.
After Cornelison starts off the night fans on hand for the Mallards' potentially crucial game against the Oilers will not only enjoy ample action on the ice but also will have a chance to win an array of prizes, including:
- Authentic game worn Mallard jerseys including those of former Mallard standouts Mickey Lang and Gergo Nagy
- John Deere Classic tickets
- Tickets to upcoming iWireless Center events, including WWE, Godsmack, Monster Jam and PBR Rodeo
- 2015-16 Mallards season tickets and free tickets to all 2015 Mallards playoff games
- An evening in a suite at a Quad Cities River Bandits game
- Autographed Mallards memorabilia
- Free golf at TPC Deere Run and Pinnacle Country Club
- And more!
Among the giveaways will be a set of prize drawings exclusive to Mallards season ticket holders.
Following the game the black jerseys worn by the Mallards this season will be auctioned off. Winning bidders will receive their game worn jerseys after the conclusion of the Mallards' ECHL Kelly Cup playoff run.
Saturday's fun will start at the iWireless Center well before the Mallards' clash with Tulsa. At 1:00 p.m. the Quad City Firefighters' hockey team will play against the Illinois District One Firefighters to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Tickets to Saturday night's Mallards game are also good for the firefighters' game.
Seats for Saturday night's game are on sale now as are tickets for the Mallards' first three home playoff games. The Mallards will open the best-of-seven first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs next week on a date to be announced against a foe also still to be determined. Tickets are available through the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000 .
