Utah's Bobkov Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Igor Bobkov of the Utah Grizzlies is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 30-April 5. It is the second time this season, and the fourth time in his career, that he has won the weekly honor.

Bobkov went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .987 last week as the Grizzlies swept a crucial two-game series against Alaska.

The 24-year-old made 37 saves in a 4-1 win on Friday and stopped all 39 shots he faced in a 3-0 win on Saturday, giving Utah a three-point lead for the final playoff spot in the Pacific Division entering the final week of the season.

A native of Surgut, Russia, Bobkov has appeared in 32 games for the Grizzlies this season posting a record of 18-12-2 with four shutouts, a 2.54 goals-against average and a save percentage of .919. He has also seen action in seven games this season with Norfolk of the American Hockey League.

Under contract to the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League, Bobkov finished second in the ECHL last season with a 2.04 goals-against average and was tied for fifth with a .921 save percentage. He is 35-20-6 with six shutouts in 61 career appearances with the Grizzlies.

Bobkov has also appeared in 51 career American Hockey League games with Norfolk and Syracuse and during his junior career, he participated in the 2011 World Junior Championships.

Runners Up: Roman Will, Fort Wayne (2-1-0, 1.68 GAA, .940 save pct.) and Jeff Lerg, Toledo (2-0-1, 2.27 GAA, .916 save pct.).
