Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About Tuesday Night vs. Toledo: Geoff Irwin potted the game-winning goal just 57 seconds into overtime to lift the Cyclones over the Walleye by a 3-2 final score in front of 2,121 at U.S. Bank Arena. Irwin's goal was part of a three-point night while Josh McFadden and David MacDonald each had goals in the affair.
About Friday Night vs. Indy: A three-point night from David Pacan and a strong defensive effort led the Cyclones over the Fuel by a 4-2 final score in front of 4,501 at U.S. Bank Arena. It was Pacan's first multi-goal game of the year as Cincinnati took over the fourth and final playoff spot with four games remaining. Rob Madore earned the victory in net to become the club's third-best goaltender in terms of wins; he picked up his 32nd in a Cincinnati jersey.
About Saturday Night vs. Evansville: Rookie forward Garrick Perry posted his first two professional points to help lift the Cyclones over the IceMen by a 4-0 final score in front of 4,640 at U.S. Bank Arena.
THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE:
Wednesday, April 8 at Fort Wayne, 7:30pm ET
Friday, April 10 at Toledo, 7:15pm ET
Saturday, April 11 at Fort Wayne, 7:30pm ET
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
Regular Season Finale: The Cyclones will open up the final week of the regular season needing another solid showing to secure a 2015 Kelly Cup Playoff berth. On Wednesday night, they'll visit the Fort Wayne Komets at 7:30pm in the first of two visits this week. Then, on Friday, they'll travel to Toledo, Ohio to tussle with the Walleye one last time at 7:15pm. Finally, on Saturday night, they'll return to Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne for the regular season finale against the Komets. Fans can hear all three games on the Cyclones Radio Network beginning 20 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
Closing in on the Clinch: Cincinnati is still bidding for its third consecutive playoff appearance and their ninth out of the last ten seasons. The "Magic Number" to clinch a playoff spot currently sits at six. That number will dip by two for every Cincinnati victory or Wheeling loss. Should the Clones or Nailers lose in overtime or shootout the magic number would dip by one.
Kelly Cup Playoff Information: Should the Cyclones advance into the Kelly Cup Playoffs, they would be the lower seed and would face-off against either the Toledo Walleye or Fort Wayne Komets in a best-of-seven first round series. After playing the first two games on the road, the Clones would return to U.S. Bank Arena to host games 3, 4, and if necessary, 5 on April 22, 24, and 25. All three potential first round home games would begin at 7:30pm. Stay tuned to CyclonesHockey.com for all the details. Playoff packages are on sale NOW! Call 513.421.PUCK to reserve your seats.
