
Offense Comes to Life in 11-3 Tourists Win

Asheville nearly tied a season high with 16 hits Friday night en route to an 11-3 victory over visiting Greensboro. Six players recorded two or more base knocks for the Tourists and their pitching was just as effective.
Ben Alsup (11-4, 4.11) became the South Atlantic League's first 11-game winner by working 6.2 innings and allowing only one earned run. Ken Roberts and Jefri Hernandez combined to pitch the final 2.1 innings without surrendering any damage.
Asheville led 3-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth; but a five-run frame broke the game open.
The two hitters atop Asheville's line-up, Trevor Story and Tyler Massey, went a combined 6-for-8 with five runs scored. Story finished 3-for-3 with two walks and Massey was 3-for-5 with three separate RBI singles. Harold Riggins, Jordan Ribera, and Sam Mende all clubbed Home Runs on the evening while Jared Simon and David Kandilas also delivered with a pair of base hits for the T's.
The series in now tied up at 1-1 and game three is on Saturday night with the first pitch slated for 6:05pm.
