The Chicago Cubs have announced the following roster moves affecting the Myrtle Beach Pelicans:

-OF Daniel Spingola has been assigned to Double-A Tennessee from Myrtle Beach.

-OF Zach Davis has been assigned to Myrtle Beach from Low-A South Bend. He will wear No. 22.

Spingola will be playing in his second career stint with Tennessee after struggling with the Smokies in a brief cameo of 43 games in 2017 (.237/.299/.385). A native of Alpharetta, Ga., Spingola batted .211/.279/.316 with the Birds in 2018, compiling seven doubles, two home runs and 10 RBIs. He was a Midseason All-Star in the Carolina League in 2017, when he posted a .285/.368/.434 line with 15 doubles, six triples, two homers and 27 RBIs for the Birds. Spingola was originally selected by the Cubs in the 31st round of the 2014 draft out of Georgia Tech.

Davis hit .267/.366/.333 with three doubles, four triples, 15 RBIs and 19 stolen bases in 22 attempts with Low-A South Bend. A native of Houston, Texas, Davis spent most of the 2017 season with Short Season Class A Eugene, where he slashed .275/.374/.363 with seven doubles, two triples, two home runs, 12 RBIs and 23 steals in 28 attempts. Davis was originally selected by the Cubs in the 32nd round of the 2016 draft out of Texas Tech, where he helped the Red Raiders make two trips to the College World Series.

The Pelicans' roster sits at 24 active players, with five players on the disabled list.
