Stockton Ports News Release
The Ports are off and running in the second half of the Cal-League season. Stockton finds themselves tied for first place with a record of 2-1 at the start of this series, and having won five of their last six games.
Thanks to their offensive outburst this homestand, the Ports are now batting .268 as a team, which puts them in a virtual tie for fifth place in the Cal-League. Tommy Everidge and Myron Leslie each have 11 RBI in their last ten games, and four Ports are hitting over .300 in that span. The pitching has struggled a bit, having allowed 44 runs in the last six games.
Visalia is 10-10 in the month of June and took one of three in their most recent series with the San Jose Giants. The Oaks finished the first half of the season in fourth place in the North with a mark of 33-37. Their offense has lit up Ports pitching this season. As a team, Visalia is batting .313 against Stockton with 16 homers and 68 runs scored.
The way the season series has gone, look for offense to rule the last weekend before the All-Star Break.
