October 1, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New York City FC News Release
New York City Football Club have clinched a place in the 2022 MLS Playoffs for the seventh successive year.
City's spot in the top seven of the Eastern Conference was secured in the wake of Miami's result against Toronto FC on Friday night (EDIT)
Nick Cushing's side sit just a point behind third place, with home field advantage awarded to the top four.
As reigning MLS Cup Champions, NYCFC have the chance to retain the trophy when the post-season schedule kicks off next month.
The 2022 tournament is set to begin on Saturday, 15 October with the MLS Cup Final scheduled for Saturday, 5 November. The timeline has been planned to accommodate the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
City have qualified for the Playoffs in every season since 2016 and will be chasing our third trophy success, following September's Campeones Cup win.
The Boys in Blue complete our home MLS regular season campaign against Orlando City on Sunday, 2 October.
Ticket information for the 2022 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs will be announced to City Members via email and via the Club's social media channels when seedings are determined.
