NWSL Announces Dunn and Krieger as Spirit's 2016 USWNT Allocated Players

BOYDS, MD - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced today the U.S. allocated players for the 2016 season, including Crystal Dunn and Ali Krieger for the Spirit.

"Ali and Crystal are both important parts of the Spirit," said Spirit general manager and head coach Jim Gabarra. "We look forward to their continued development and success."

Ali Krieger, who was a member of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup Champion team, has been with the Spirit since the inaugural 2013 season. The defender has made 49 appearances for the Spirit, third most of any player.

The Spirit drafted forward Crystal Dunn in the 2014 NWSL College Draft. She had a banner 2015 season scoring 15 goals for the Spirit and was awarded NWSL Golden Boot, NWSL MVP, Washington Spirit Golden Boot, and Washington Spirit MVP. She was also NWSL Player of the Week a record six times and NWSL Player of the Month for August.

Both players are currently with the United States Women's National Team at camp leading up to their match on Saturday January 23rd in San Diego, California against Ireland.
