
Nuts Shutout Ports to End the 2021 Season

Stockton, CA - In their eighth shutout of the season, the Modesto Nuts defeated the Stockton Ports 8-0 on Sunday afternoon at Banner Island Ballpark to finish the 2021 season with a 64-51 record.
Bryce Miller stranded four baserunners in the first two innings with four strikeouts in his start for the Nuts (64-51). William Fleming (W, 3-0) worked the next two innings without allowing a hit and striking out three. Elvis Alvarado did the most work with three shutout innings out of the Nuts' bullpen. Andrew Moore worked around a leadoff walk in the eighth. Brayan Perez finished the game off with a scoreless ninth.
Grant Judkins (L, 0-6) entered the game in the fifth for the Ports (42-75) and surrendered a sacrifice fly off the bat of Cesar Izturis Jr. Izturis finished with two hits.
Milkar Perez started the sixth with a double, his second hit of the day. James Parker brought him home with a line-dive two-run homer. Parker added his third RBI in the eighth.
Judkins worked three innings allowing three runs on six hits out of the Ports' bullpen.
The win was the Nuts' eighth shutout of the year, finishing the season the same way they started it, with a shutout of the Ports.
2022 Opening Day has not yet been announced.
