
Nunnally Drops 35 as Legends Roll Past Red Claws

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), hosted the Maine Red Claws in the first and only regular season matchup of the two teams. The Legends cruised through the second half to take their sixth straight victory in the final stretch of the season.
Maine got off to a quick start, going up by four with less than a minute off the clock. The Legends battled to find their ground, taking over with just under nine minutes in the first for the first and last lead change of the game. The Legends entered the second quarter with an eight-point advantage but the Red Claws scrapped their way back to tie it up four times in twelve minutes. Coming out of halftime the Legends held a 78-65 lead and continued to to pull away putting as many as 23 points in between the two teams. Legends' leading scorer James Nunnally had a team-high eight points for the Legends in the fourth as they took home the 139-120 victory.
The Legends had eight players in double-digit scoring. Nunnally posted a new season-high of 35 points to lead the game in scoring. Mavericks' assignee Shane Larkin added 21 points and a new season-high 11 assists, while Damion James added the games' only other double-double of 16 points and 12 boards. Frank Gaines was the Red Claws' leading scorer with 34 points, and Daniel Orton added 19 points and a game-high 5 blocked shots.
