Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League enter a pivotal stretch in their home schedule this weekend when they take on the Fresno Falcons on Friday night, and the Anchorage Aces on Saturday night at Centennial Garden. Both games start at 7:00pm with doors opening at 6:00pm.
Friday's game is Condors Notebook Giveaway Night, sponsored by Spanish Radio Group and American Business Machines. The first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive the three-ring notebooks, adorned with Condors action shots.
The second live telecast of the season is on Friday night as well, for those who can't make it out to the game in person. All Friday night home games for the remainder of the season can be seen live on Time Warner Cable Ch.21, and rebroadcast the following day at 10:00am.
The Aces return to Bakersfield on Saturday night, as do the ZOOperstars to entertain the crowd. The 10-foot tall mascot characters, such as Snail Earnhardt, Jr., Dominick Hashark, Mario Lemule, Shaquille O'Seal, Clammy Sosa and Ichiroach Suzuki, bring their wackiness back to the Garden. These fan favorites will perform on the ice during both intermissions and work the crowd during the game.
Saturday's game is the third Colonel Claw'd's Kid's Club game of the season. All members of the Kid's Club, which is sponsored by Time Warner Cable, the Bakersfield Californian and John's Incredible Pizza, receive free admission to the game.
Saturday's game is also a D.A.R.E. Night at the Garden, sponsored by KERN 1410 and the Holiday Inn Select. Students graduating from the D.A.R.E. program received complimentary tickets to the game.
Finally, there's a good reason to open your bills. It's a Time Warner Cable Family Night on Saturday, giving Time Warner subscribers the chance to purchase tickets for just $5 apiece with a special coupon that was included along with their monthly cable bill.
Public Skating returns to Centennial Garden on Sunday from 1:00-3:00pm. Sponsored by KBID 1350, admission is just $7, with limited skate rental available for an additional $3.
The Condors Coach's Show can be heard tonight from 6-7:00pm on KGEO AM 1230, live from the Holiday Inn Select at 801 Truxtun Ave. This week's guests are Paul Willett and Guy Dupuis, as well as Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly. Fans can tune in, call in with questions at 631-1230, or come out to the show, meet the players and win Condors prizes.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season and group tickets may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden at 1001 Truxtun Ave.
Condors droppings: The January website auction features the chance to co-host the Condors Coach's Show, alongside Condors broadcaster Kevin Bartl and Head Coach Paul Kelly, live from the Holiday Inn Select.
