MADISON, WI - The Madison Capitols dropped a 6-4 decision to the Green Bay Gamblers at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena on Friday night. Green Bay takes the Wisconsin Cheese Cup, presented by Odyssey Brands, for the second consecutive season.

Madison (22-30-2-2) is ranked eighth in the Eastern Conference with 48 points. Green Bay (29-22-4-1) sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 63 points.

Skating shorthanded, center Nolan Moyle took the puck in on a breakaway and wristed a shot past goaltender Dryden McKay at 6:34 of the final frame.

Gamblers center Josh Dunne bobbed and weaved his way through the Capitols zone before backhanding a pass to center Jesse Jacques in the left face-off circle. Jacques one-timed the puck past McKay for a 1-0 lead at 10:51 of the first period.

Putting Green Bay up by two, center Robert Welsher took an initial shot on net. Left wing Robert Hermann buried the rebound in the crease for his 11th tally of the season at 15:46 of the first period.

For the Capitols first tally of the match, center Ludwig Stenlund stole the puck in the neutral zone and wristed a shot past netminder Maksim Zhukov at 17:16 of the opening frame. The unassisted goal was Stenlund's 16th goal of the season and brought the score to 2-1.

At 4:19 of the middle frame, right wing Danny DiGrande tucked in a rebound after shot attempts from Hermann and Welsher for his third goal of the season leaving Madison trailing by two.

Putting the Capitols back to within one, left wing Alec Broetzman stole the puck in the neutral zone and skated toward the net. Zhukov made the initial pad save on Broetzman but allowed right wing Ryan O'Reilly to pick up the rebound. The winger wrist the puck into the back of the net for his 20th goal of the season.

Making the score 4-2 for the Gamblers, defenseman Ethan Frish slid the puck from the left wing boards to Hermann in the slot. Hermann spun around and backhanded a pass to Jacques who chipped the puck over the leg of McKay at 10:48.

Bringing the Capitols back within one for the second time of the night, forward Kamil Sadlocha sauced the puck to center Mick Messner at the half wall. Messner teed up a shot allowing center Anthony Callin to sneak the puck past the left skate of Zhukov with 4:40 remaining in the last period.

The Capitols final tally of the night to tie the game at 4-4, came after right wing Cade Borchardt sent the puck through the slot to center Micheal Mancinelli who one-timed the puck for his 17th tally of the season. Right defense Colin Felix was also credited with an assist.

Scoring his second goal of the night and 19th tally of the season, Webster skated down the right wing boards setting up Moyle for the goal. Moyle one-timed the puck for the last tally of the night, a 6-4 final, with 2:59 remaining in the contest.

McKay (18-22-1-2) took his 22nd loss of the season stopping 27-of-33 shots. Zhukov (26-17-3-1) earned his 26th win of the season stopping 30-of-34 shots.

Madison went 0-for-4 on the power play. Green Bay was 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

Notables: Left wing Alec Broetzman is on a four-game point streak with two goals and four assists for six points...Center Ludwig Stenlund is on a three-game point streak with two goals and an assist for three points.
