PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona Wranglers are excited to announce the signing of a new defensive end/linebacker to the 2025 roster, Christian Toelei'u. (This signing is presented by The Bee's Knees Dance Prescott.)

Toelei'u (6'0 - 230 lbs.) enters his first season in the Indoor Football League with the Wranglers. Toelei'u has had an impressive journey to earn this opportunity to play professional football. During his final season in college, Toelei'u played at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. Toelei'u earned a 2024 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference honorable mention while playing for the Grizzlies. Over the course of three collegiate seasons, Toelei'u tallied 174 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, nine and a half sacks, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and one pass defended.

Toelei'u is orginally from Pago Pago, American Samoa, and he attended Fa'asao Marist High School. Fa'asao Marist High did not have a football team. Toelei'u was able to play football at Tafuna High School during all four years but remain a student at Fa'asao Marist High. He relocated to San Francisco, Calif. after graduating high school in 2018. His performance earned him the opportunity to transfer to Adams State in 2023, when he took a redshirt season before dominating in 2024.

Toelei'u graduated with his Associate of Arts in Social Sciences from Laney College in 2021. Toelei'u also earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus on Sports and Recreation Management from Adams State in 2024.

During his upbringing in Pago Pago, Toelei'u was inspired to play football by his initial love with rugby. Toelei'u explained by saying., "My first sport was rugby back on the islands, that's the biggest sport there, and eventually that lead me to try football." Toelei'u added to this when he said, "Some of my friends played football and wanted me to try it, I didn't tell my family that I was going to try football, I just did it." Toelei'u fell in love with the game quickly, he explained by stating, "I started playing football and I knew right away that this is where I wanted to be, this is the dream, I fell in love with the game." Regarding what continues to drive Toelei'u to play today, he said, "My parents and my pops are my biggest inspirations, my dad is a hard-working man who I have always looked up to, I grew up in a poor family and he was always working to made sure that we had food on the table." Toelei'u added to this by saying, "I wouldn't be here without my dad, I didn't have a lot of opportunity growing up, by my pops taught me how to pray to God, work hard, and just keep going."

Toelei'u is excited to join the Wranglers organization and for the opportunity to play in the IFL. Toelei'u said, "I am grateful for the opportunity to play for the Wranglers, God is good.
