Cary, NC - The North Carolina Football Club has collaborated with NCFC defender DJ Taylor and his clothing brand DJKT Apparel to launch a Black Lives Matter t-shirt in an effort to raise money in support of BLM. All of the proceeds from the shirt sales will go to the BLM Global Network Foundation, whose mission is to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities. "This is a collaboration between DJKT Apparel, the North Carolina Football Club, the black players, and the community that we play in," said Taylor. "I hope this shirt brings continual awareness to the BLM movement and is a representation of the support the club has towards its black players and the black community."

Each member of North Carolina FC received a t-shirt and will sport them as they travel to the remainder of the away games in 2020. Fans can purchase the same shirt from the DJKT Apparel website in sizes XS-3XL for $22.

"We are proud of the leadership roles our players take in the community," said North Carolina FC and NC Courage President and General Manager Curt Johnson. "When DJ asked to collaborate with the club in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and in an effort to shine a light on the need for greater diversity, awareness, and change, it was something we wanted to do. We are pleased to be able to help raise money in coordination with our fans and community through the sale of these t-shirts."

Taylor is a Raleigh native and a product of the North Carolina FC Youth Academy. He first signed an academy contract with the club in 2015. He signed a professional contract in 2017 and has played 7,384 minutes since in an NCFC uniform.
