Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - 2009 Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year Bud Norris will make a rehab start with the Round Rock Express as the team opens a four-game series Tuesday against the Albuquerque Isotopes. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT at The Dell Diamond.

This is the third rehab start for Norris, who has been on the disabled list since May 24 with bursitis and bicep tendinitis. He worked 4.0 scoreless innings June 12 at New Orleans and allowed five runs over 4.2 innings last week at Iowa. Norris was 4-9 with a 2.63 ERA and 112 strikeouts for the Express last season before being called up to the Astros in late July.

In other news, the Express added three players to their roster Monday. Outfielder Lee Cruz, Catcher John Curtis and infielder Brandon Wikoff were promoted from Class A-Advanced Lancaster.

Cruz began the season in the Chicago White Sox organization, hitting .197 with one home run and six RBI in 21 games with Double-A Birmingham. He joined Lancaster in early June and hit .451 with four homers and 17 RBI in 13 games. Curtis hit .269 with no home runs and four RBI in 16 games with Lancaster, while Wikoff hit .251 with no home runs and 16 RBI in 65 games.

Round Rock and Omaha conclude their four-game series Monday with a 7:05 p.m. CDT first pitch at The Dell Diamond. Southpaw Polin Trinidad (3-5, 4.34 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Express, while right-hander Luis Mendoza (4-5, 4.14 ERA) gets the nod for the Royals.
