
Normal Comes Up Short In Series Finale

WASHINGTON, PA- The Normal CornBelters, presented by the Illinois Corn Farmers, lost their second straight game to the Washington Wild Things at CONSOL Energy Park Sunday evening 4-3. The game was tied entering the bottom of the ninth before Washington scored the game winner.
Bobby Pritchett had another quality start for the CornBelters on the mound. Pritchett went seven strong innings giving up four hit and three runs, two of which were earned. Pritchett also struck out seven while walking two before giving way to Mike LaLuna who worked a scoreless eighth before giving up the game winner with one out in the ninth.
Normal pounded out 11 hits on the evening led by third basemen Daniel Cox who went 2-4 including a home run and racked up all three CornBelters' RBI. Other Normal CornBelters joining Cox with multi-hit games were Asif Shah, Johnathan Ross and Patrick Nolan, each ending the night at 2-4. Catcher Andrew Barbaro also had a double on the evening.
The CornBelters have Monday off before hitting the road again to visit the Lake Erie Crushers for a three game set in Ohio.
