Southern Illinois Miners News Release

MARION, Ill. - The Southern Illinois Miners and local Go Red For Women sponsor Heartland Regional Medical Center will be making up the Go Red game Sunday, Aug. 15 at 5:05 p.m. at Rent One Park. The promotion is designed to raise awareness of heart disease and women and will partially benefit the American Heart Association

The Go Red game was originally scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 12, but late afternoon rain postponed some of the festivities. Tonight the Miners will once again wear their Go Red jerseys. After the game, the Miners and their players will auction off their game worn Go Red jerseys with a portion of the proceeds going towards the American Heart Association.

All fans attending Thursday's Go Red game were given a free Go Red T-shirt and a free ticket to today's game. Fans have been encouraged to wear their red shirts again to today's game as the Miners "red out" the stands. A helicopter will fly over the ballpark at approximately 6 p.m. to photograph the event.

Also fans at the game will have the opportunity to learn more about Go Red For Women, nutrition, fitness and overall wellness as well as win prizes from Heartland Regional Medical Center, the American Heart Association, Macy's and many more organizations.

During the game, fans will have a chance to buy raffle tickets from Heartland Regional Medical Center with all proceeds benefitting the American Heart Association.
