July 18, 2007 - Luis Montanez had three hits and a home run, pacing Norfolk's 17-hit attack as the Tides cruised to a 9-1 win over the Toledo Mud Hens Wednesday night.

Montanez put the Tides on top 2-1 with an RBI single in the 4th inning before collecting his 7th home run of the season leading off the sixth. He added another single in the seventh frame, and has now hit safely in five straight games, hitting .450 (9-for-20) with two home runs and four RBI over that stretch.

Montanez was one of seven Tides in the starting lineup to collect multiple hits in the game, with Tike Redman and J.R. House each adding three hits apiece. House and Terry Tiffee each added three runs driven in, as Norfolk snapped a brief two-game losing skid.

Norfolk's 17 hits were just one shy of its season-high, established Saturday afternoon in Ottawa.

Tides starter Craig Anderson (3-2) was the beneficiary of the offensive output, as the 26-year-old southpaw picked up his second straight win. Anderson tied his season-high with seven strikeouts, allowing one run on five hits in 6.0 innings of work. Over his last three outings, Anderson has allowed just one earned run on 11 hits in 18.2 innings, good for a 0.48 ERA.

The Mud Hens plated their lone run of the contest in the 4th inning on a solo home run into right field off the bat of Jack Hannahan. Kevin Hooper added two hits for the Hens, while former Tide Timo Perez had two hits to increase his International League leading total to 120.

Yorman Bazardo (7-5) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on 11 hits in 5.0 innings of work. Bazardo walked two and struck out one.

The Tides will look to split the four-game series on Thursday afternoon, as they take on the Mud Hens from Harbor Park at 12:15. Andy Mitchell (7-3, 3.44) is slated to take the hill for Norfolk against Toledo righty Jordan Tata (3-2, 3.26).
