Oshawa Generals News Release

Oshawa, ON- The Ontario Hockey League announced today Generals forwards Serron Noel, Allan McShane and defenceman Nico Gross have been named to the 2018 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Guelph, ON.

This is the second time the Generals have had three players to play in the game. In the NHL Central Scouting Player's to Watch List November ratings, Noel (A), McShane (B) and Gross (B) all received high ranks among draft eligible players.

Noel, in his sophomore season with the Gens, has seen his ranking climb with his play this season. In 27 games, Noel has 14 goals, nine assists for 23 points, already exceeding his point production from his rookie season.

McShane, who came to the Generals at the trade deadline last season, currently sits first in points on the Gens roster. With 10 goals and 19 assists, McShane has been a valued player since joining the team. His quick skating combined with skilled hands equal a threating combination when he is on the ice.

Gross, drafted by the Gens in the 2017 Import Draft, is playing his first year in the Ontario Hockey League. He played last year with Team Switzerland at the World Junior Hockey Championship and is currently at their pre-camp for the 2018 team. With the Generals this season, Gross has three goals and five assists in 29 games.

Noel and McShane will play on the same team, and Gross will suit up for the opposition. Team Orr and Team Cherry will be named at a later date. The game will be held at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph on Thursday, January 25th.
