Ottawa 67's News Release

PETERBOROUGH, ON - The Ottawa 67's will head into Sunday's outdoor game on a high note after defeating the Peteborough Petes 5-2 on the road Thursday night.

Graeme Clarke scored the winner in the third period as the 67's outshot the Petes 37-25 to pick up an important two points. The win pushes Ottawa a point ahead of Peterborough for fifth in the Eastern Conference.

Kody Clark notched the game's first goal as the seconds ticked down in the first period but a pair of Peterborough goals less than a minute apart put the Petes up midway through the second.

The Peterborough lead was short-lived as less than two minutes after the home team went ahead, the 67's responded with the tying goal courtesy of Quinn Yule's second of the year.

Sasha Chmelevski added some insurance with his 15th goal of the season coming midway through the third period. Mitchell Hoelscher added his second of the year into an empty net with just three seconds remaining.

Olivier Tremblay picked up the win in goal for Ottawa, turning away 23 shots. Hunter Jones was tagged with the loss for Peterborough and made 32 saves.

The 67's close out their pre-Christmas schedule in style on Sunday afternoon as they host the Gatineau Olympiques on the TD Place field for the first-ever outdoor OHL game in Ottawa. Puck drop is at 3 p.m. and tickets start at just $15.
