COLUMBUS, OHIO - For a third straight game to start the season, the Indianapolis Indians hit two home runs, but a pair of three-run rallies sent the Columbus Clippers to the 7-4 victory on Saturday evening.

It was a Columbus (3-0) homer that began the scoring. Eric Haase belted a solo shot over the right-field wall to start the second inning. Indianapolis (0-3) would quickly tie the game when Cole Tucker hit into a fielder's choice that scored Christian Kelley in the top of the third.

The Clippers plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. Oscar Mercado and rehabbing Jason Kipnis singled home a pair of runs, while the third run scored on a wild pitch.

In the top of the sixth, Bryan Reynolds clubbed a two-run homer to left field for his first Triple-A long ball. It cut the Columbus advantage to just one run.

Three walks hurt Indy in Columbus' final three-run frame in the bottom of the eighth. Tim Federowicz drew a bases-loaded walk to force in a run. A fielder's choice by Mark Mathias and a single by Mercado plated the other two runs.

Indianapolis mounted a rally in the top of the ninth inning. Eric Wood led off the inning with a home run in his first game of the season. The Tribe would load the bases in the ninth but inch no closer.

Alex McRae (0-1) was handed the loss, but he fanned seven batters and pitched into the fifth inning. Jefry Rodriguez (1-0) allowed three runs in five and two-thirds innings for Columbus to earn the victory.

Indianapolis will look to avoid the sweep on Sunday afternoon in Columbus, first pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. The Tribe will celebrate Opening Night at Victory Field on Thursday, April 11 against the Charlotte Knights at 7:05 p.m.
