Charlotte Knights News Release
(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - Catcher Zack Collins launched his third home run in three games, but the Charlotte Knights dropped game three of the four-game series to the Durham Bulls by a score of 6-2 on Saturday evening from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. The loss was Charlotte's first of the 2019 season.
Collins, 24, began the season with a two-homer game on Thursday in the season opener. On Saturday, he followed up that solid offensive performance with a solo home run in the third inning. Collins, who is in his first season at the Triple-A level, finished the game 1-for-2 with the home run, a walk, and two RBIs.
RHP Jordan Stephens (0-1, 4.50) started for the Knights and was saddled with the loss after he allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits over six innings of work. RHP Dylan Covey made his season debut with the Knights and tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
The Knights will conclude their four-game series against the Bulls on Sunday afternoon from BB&T Ballpark. Gates will open at 1:00 p.m. and the Knights will celebrate Homer The Dragon's 30th Birthday. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Homer Birthday Bobblehead presented by Sunbelt Rentals.
