New York Unveils Name and Logo

September 13, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Orlando Titans News Release

(New York, New York) - The "New York Titans" was introduced today as the name of New York's expansion indoor professional lacrosse franchise of the National Lacrosse League. The Titans will wear orange and blue as the team's official colors. The logo features an armored helmet with the letter "T" displayed in the face opening, and the team name boldly written across the bottom. The announcement was made today by Team President George Daniel.

In July, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that an online poll would be conducted to name the team. Over 7000 fan entries were received. "The overwhelming choice of the fans is Titans." said Daniel. "The image of New York is one of power. The name Titans captures that."

The logo was created by Adrenalin, Inc. "As members of one of the fastest growing leagues in all of sports, it's not surprising that the New York Titans ownership places a strong priority on branding," said Daniel Price, CEO of Adrenalin. "Our collective goal was to develop an organizational brand that combined the dynamic excitement of New York with the aggressive mentality of the sport of lacrosse. The resulting name and logo thus includes a warrior's steel helmet with the city's majestic skyline."

Adrenalin created the brands for three other NLL teams: The Colorado Mammoth, Arizona Sting and revamped the Philadelphia Wings. Adrenalin has also developed the brands for the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL and the Chicago Fire of the MLS.

The Titans also announced the launch of their new website at www.nytitanslacrosse.com. Visitors can reserve tickets, get information about team news, stats and schedule information.
