HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls II have signed Harvard midfielder and former New York Red Bulls U-23 player Tim Schmoll to a USL contract, the club announced today.
Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Schmoll, a native of Coppet, Switzerland, played 61 games for the Crimson and started 40 matches. In four seasons with Harvard, he totaled 10 goals and six assists. As a senior, he was named All-Ivy second team and Ivy League honor roll in October. He has also received NSCAA/Continental Tire Third Team All-Region and All-Ivy League First Team accolades as a junior.
In 2015, Schmoll joined Red Bulls U-23 in the USL Premier Development League (PDL). He played as a center back and helped New York to a 9-2-3 record. Schmoll was instrumental to New York reaching the PDL Championship game and was named to the PDL All-Eastern Conference team.
Prior to Harvard, Schmoll was a starting midfielder on the varsity soccer team all four seasons at International School of Geneva.
