Arizona United SC Debuts 2016 Schedule

PEORIA, Ariz. - Today, Arizona United SC released its 15-match home schedule. The club begins its 2016 home season on April 30 with a match against Portland Timbers FC 2 at 7:30 p.m. Arizona United SC will return to Peoria Sports Complex as part of a multi-year deal.

"We happily welcome Arizona United and all their players and fans back to Peoria," said Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat. "Arizona United is the type of franchise that will fit right into our baseball offerings and year-round first-class sports and entertainment at Peoria Sports Complex."

Twelve of Arizona United's 15 home matches will be on Saturday. The club will have four home matches in August, three home matches in June and July, and two home matches in May and September.

The club will also welcome three new teams to Arizona, as part of USL's expansion and conference realignment. Swope Park Rangers KC and the San Antonio will be making their league debut in 2016. Saint Louis FC is moving from the Eastern Conference to the Western Conference.

The first regular season match of the year will be on March 26 in Los Angeles against Los Angeles Galaxy II. Arizona United went 3-0-0 against Los Dos last season.

Earlier this year, Arizona United announced that it has hired world-renowned soccer coach Frank Yallop as its head coach and president of soccer operations. During his career as a head coach, Yallop has won two MLS Cups and two MLS coach of year titles (all with the San Jose Earthquakes) and is ranked fifth in all-time MLS wins.
