New York Rangers, Spectra by Comcast Spectacor Announce Renewal of Wolf Pack Agreement

March 9, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hartford Wolf Pack News Release

HARTFORD, CT: The New York Rangers today signed a renewal agreement with Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, the providers of Venue Management to the XL Center, for the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, to continue calling the XL Center home.

The renewal is for two years, the 2018-19 and 2019-20 AHL seasons, and includes three more one-year options for the Rangers.

This season is the 21st year of play for the Wolf Pack as the Rangers' AHL affiliate. The only longer current, continuous relationship between an NHL organization and a single AHL market is the 26 seasons of affiliation between the city of Providence, RI and the Boston Bruins.

"We're thrilled to continue our relationship with the New York Rangers," said Chris Lawrence, General Manager of the XL Center and Wolf Pack Business Operations. "Being affiliated with a world class organization such as the Rangers brings tremendous benefits to Hartford. The Wolf Pack is an integral piece of the history of hockey in Hartford, and continues to be a staple in the community and entire American Hockey League. Hartford is a tremendous hockey market, and continuing with professional hockey here is very important to us."

Spectra also provides Food Services & Hospitality and Ticketing & Fan Engagement to the XL Center.

"We are pleased to continue to have the XL Center as our home for the Hartford Wolf Pack," said New York Rangers Assistant General Manager and Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Chris Drury. "With the young talent we are developing in our system and the players we expect to add in the months and years ahead, the XL Center will play host to some exciting hockey as we continue to shape the foundation for the future of our team. We look forward to building on our player development program with Hartford serving as a great pipeline for our young prospects to turn into future Rangers."

The Wolf Pack has one Calder Cup championship, the 2000 AHL title, to its credit, and has won four division championships during its proud history. The Wolf Pack's all-time AHL record currently stands at 846(W)-586(L)-66(T)-80(OTL)-58(SOL) for a points percentage of .579. Of the teams that have been in the league for the Wolf Pack's entire existence, only the Hershey Bears, with a points percentage of .588, have a better mark than the Wolf Pack.

The Wolf Pack's next action is a back-to-back set in Charlotte against the Checkers, starting with a 7:15 PM faceoff at Bojangles' Coliseum tonight. All of the action can be heard live on News Radio 1410 WPOP, and on-line at www.newsradio1410.com and iHeartRadio. Video streaming is available at www.ahllive.com.
