
New York City Football Club Claims Matías Pellegrini from Waivers

New York City Football Club (NYCFC) today announced that the Club has claimed Midfielder Matías Pellegrini off waivers. Pellegrini joins the Club through the remainder of the 2022 season.
The Magdalena, Argentina native arrives in New York having most recently played for Club Estudiantes de La Plata in Argentina where he was on loan from Inter Miami CF.
Pellegrini appeared in 20 matches in MLS, MLS Playoffs and in MLS is Back Tournament during the 2020 season for Inter Miami CF before going to Club Estudiantes de la Plata on loan for the 2021/22 season appearing in 42 games across all competitions, including the Copa Libertadores, scoring four goals.
The right-footed player has also represented the Argentinian national team at the U-17 and U-20 level on the international stage.
Pellegrini will travel to New York City and join the rest of the squad ahead of the away match against Orlando City SC on August 28.
