
New Hampshire Snaps Losing Streak With 6-1 Win Over Trenton

(Manchester, NH)- New Hampshire 2B Scott Campbell hit a two-run home run and had 3 RBI to lead the Fisher Cats past Trenton 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at Merchantsauto.com Stadium in Manchester, NH. The Fisher Cats ended their 9-game losing streak with the win.
With Trenton leading 1-0 in the 3rd inning, New Hampshire scored 3 runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 3-1 lead. With a runner on first base and one out, C Brian Jeroloman singled to put runners at first and second. Campbell followed with an RBI single off of Thunder starting pitcher George Kontos (3-9) to tie the game at 1-1. Two batters later, LF Travis Snider delivered a two-run double to give New Hampshire a 3-1 advantage. In the 5th inning, C Brian Jeroloman doubled to start the inning. Campbell followed with his 5th home run of the season, a two-run shot over the right field wall, to increase the lead to 5-1. Kontos took the loss giving up 8 H and 5 ER in 5 IP. He struck out 8 and did not walk a batter. An RBI single by CF Ryan Patterson in the 8th inning capped the scoring for New Hampshire.
Trenton (53-35) scored its lone run in the 3rd inning on a sacrifice fly RBI by SS Ramiro Pena. 1B Cody Ehlers walked twice for the Thunder and scored a run in the loss. New Hampshire starting pitcher Kenny Rodriguez (1-1) earned his first Double-A win. He allowed only 4 H and 1ER in 6.1 IP. Thunder reliever Eric Wordekemper tossed two innings of scoreless relief for Trenton.
Trenton will look to bounce back on Monday night in the final game of the series from Manchester, NH. LHP Chase Wright (6-2, 3.13) will start for Trenton against New Hampshire Brandon Magee (1-11, 5.81). Game time is set for 7:05 P.M.
