New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution have acquired forward Adam Buksa via transfer from Polish side Pogón Szczecin. Buksa, a 23-year-old Polish youth international with five years of professional experience in Poland's Ekstraklasa, will be added to the roster as a Designated Player upon receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
"We are delighted to sign Adam Buksa to a Designated Player contract. Adam is a talented striker who will complement our group of attacking players and our team," said Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena. "We are excited to welcome him to the New England Revolution, and look forward to working with him."
Buksa most recently featured for Polish top-flight side Pogón Szczecin, where he scored 22 goals in 52 appearances - including 47 starts - across all competitions. He captured Pogón's golden boot award for the 2018-19 season after pacing the team with 11 goals. In the first half of the 2019-20 Ekstraklasa campaign, he again paced Pogón with seven goals through 18 appearances, helping the team reach first place in the league table. Buksa's career totals include 98 appearances with 64 starts, 28 goals, and 11 assists through more than 5,700 minutes played.
The forward joined Pogón in July 2018 from Zagà âebie Lubin, another Ekstraklasa outfit for which he scored five goals in 31 appearances, including 10 starts. The Kraków native began his professional career in 2014 with Lechia Gdaà âsk, registering one goal in 16 appearances. He developed through the youth academies of Wisà âa Kraków, Hutnik Kraków, Garbarnia Kraków, and Novara.
On the international stage, Buksa has represented Poland at the Under-21, Under-19, and Under-17 levels. In Nov. 2018, he earned his first call up to Poland's senior team for a friendly against the Czech Republic and a UEFA Nations League qualifying match against Portugal, but did not play.
