Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), in conjunction with Concacaf, today announced the dates and times for the home-and-away Round of 16 matches of the prestigious 2020 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League.
LAFC will travel to Mexico to take on Club León on Tuesday, February 18 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Estadio León in Leg 1 of the Round of 16. A week later, the Black & Gold will host the Liga MX side on Thursday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Banc of California Stadium. For more information or to purchase tickets visit LAFC.com/CCL.
The Concacaf Champions League features the top 16 clubs in North America, Central America and the Caribbean facing off in home-and-away knockout rounds. In each round, the team with the most combined goals at the end of both games advances. LAFC is looking to become the first MLS team to win the tournament in its current format.
The winner of the 2020 Concacaf Champions League will face the champions of the world's other five confederations, including the UEFA Champions League, in the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup.
Fans will be able to enjoy all the action through the Confederation's partner networks, including TUDN (United States), Fox Sports Latin America (Mexico & Central America), ESPN (Central America), TSN and RDS (Canada), Flow Sports (Caribbean) and other local partners. For other territories, the event will be available on Concacaf GO (subject to territory restrictions).
Earlier this week, LAFC also released its 34-game schedule for the 2020 MLS regular season. The Club will begin its third campaign in MLS with a three-match homestand in the heart of Los Angeles, hosting expansion side Inter Miami CF, Philadelphia Union and Portland Timbers FC at Banc of California Stadium.
