FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution Academy U-19s went 1-0-1 over the weekend after traveling to take on New York Soccer Club and Met Oval.
The Revolution secured a 3-0 victory over NYSC on Saturday as Kevin Christensen (2006 - Natick, Mass.) earned the clean sheet. Gianluca Armellino (2005 - Plainville, Mass.), Jack Burkhardt (2005 - Sutton, Mass.), and Malik Akin (2006 - Altamonte Springs, Fla.) made up the goal scorers as the U-19s notched their seventh win of the season.
New England went on to play Met Oval to a 2-2 draw on Sunday where Felipe Vieira De Andrade (2004 - Westborough, Mass.) notched a brace after scoring in the 78th and 83rd minutes. Goalkeeper Max Weinstein (2004 - Montpelier, V.T.) saw his first action of the 2022-23 MLS NEXT season in the match after making eight starts with Revolution II in MLS NEXT Pro this year.
All four Academy teams return to action this weekend when they travel to face Cedar Stars Academy on Saturday and BW Gotschee Academy on Sunday. The U-19s improved to 7-1-2 on the season with this weekend's results.
Forward Felipe Vieira De Andrade (2004 - Westborough, Mass.) tallied a brace on Sunday, bringing him to four goals on the season as he led his team to a 2-2 draw vs. Met Oval.
Goalkeeper Kevin Christensen (2006 - Natick, Mass.) earned his third clean sheet of the year on Saturday, while Gianluca Armellino (2005 - Plainville, Mass.), Jack Burkhardt (2005 - Sutton, Mass.), and Malik Akin (2006 - Altamonte Springs, Fla.) all scored in New England's 3-0 victory.
Goalkeeper Max Weinstein made his first start of the season with the U-19s on Sunday, where the team played to their second draw of the year.
