
DaMarcus Beasley Named Major League Soccer Ambassador for the FIFA World Cup

NEW YORK - Major League Soccer announced today that four-time FIFA World Cup star and MLS great, DaMarcus Beasley, has been named an MLS ambassador during the FIFA World Cup, the epicenter of the global game this November.
As an MLS ambassador, Beasley will be representing MLS and participating in different league events around the World Cup, including media interviews and watch parties in New York City and in Doha, Qatar in the coming weeks. More details to be shared at a later date.
Beasley represented the United States Men's National Team and is the only U.S. player in history to play in four FIFA World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014). Playing both as a left winger and left wingback, Beasley represented the USMNT a total of 126 times in his 16-year international career and accumulated over 400 appearances at prestigious clubs across the world, including the Chicago Fire and Houston Dynamo in MLS, Club Puebla in Mexico as well as at PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands), Manchester City (England), Rangers FC (Scotland) and Hannover 96 (Germany).
For club and country, Beasley lifted a total of 18 trophies including the 2003 Supporters' Shield with the Chicago Fire, the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with Chicago Fire (2000, 2003) and Houston Dynamo (2018), and five CONCACAF Gold Cups with the USMNT (2002, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2017). Beasley received multiple individual awards, including the 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup Golden Boot. In MLS, Beasley was named into the 2003 MLS Best XI team and was a five-time MLS All-Star selection (2001, 2002, 2003, 2015, 2017).
Beasley, who is fluent in Spanish, retired from the sport at 37 following the 2019 MLS season with the Houston Dynamo, after a decorated 20-year professional career. He is currently part-owner and Director of Football Operations at Fort Wayne FC, playing in USL League Two.
In addition to his work with MLS, Beasley will be on-location in Doha as a FOX Sports digital analyst and host.
