Netting to be installed at Centroplex

Baton Rouge Kingfish News Release

The Baton Rouge Kingfish announced today that netting behind each goal above the protective glass at the Riverside Centroplex should be installed by the end of December.

Burley's Rink Supplies, located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been contracted to supply the Kingfish and the Centroplex with the protective netting.

PRO-SPEC Monofilament Netting will be installed in the Centroplex. Pro-Spec Netting is manufactured with a 1-1/2" diamond mesh, in addition, it is also virtually see-through yet strong enough to stop a puck traveling at 120mph.

To provide added safety this season, the East Coast Hockey League has mandated the netting to provide extra protection from errant pucks entering the stands.

Sunday is ‘Tiger Nite' at the ‘Fish Tank' as the Kingfish take on the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 4:05 p.m. The Kingfish will wear special "Tiger" jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game.
