
Nestrasil, Parkes and Spady Headed to Toledo

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Thursday reassigned right wings Andrej Nestrasil and Trevor Parkes from the Grand Rapids Griffins to the ECHL's Toledo Walleye. Additionally, the Griffins released defenseman Erik Spady from his professional tryout.
Nestrasil, 21, has skated in six games with the Griffins this season, recording one assist and two penalty minutes. The Prague, Czech Republic, native is tied for second on the Walleye with 31 points (10-21-31) in 31 games. Nestrasil also leads Toledo and is tied for 14th in the ECHL with a plus-15 rating. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound forward shows 65 points (20-45-65) in 113 professional games.
Parkes, 21, has tallied seven points (3-4-7) and 26 penalty minutes in 25 games with Grand Rapids this season. A native of Fort Erie, Ontario, Parkes has also recorded four goals in four career games with the Walleye. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound winger has registered 15 points (5-10-15) and 49 penalty minutes in 69 career games with the Griffins.
Spady, 23, made his AHL debut last night for Grand Rapids in the team's 5-4 shootout win over the Oklahoma City Barons. The Deroche, British Columbia, native has recorded one assist and two penalty minutes in two games with the Walleye since joining the team on Jan. 15. A second-year pro, Spady notched 17 points (3-14-17) and 59 penalty minutes in 34 games with the CHL's Fort Worth Brahmas prior to joining Toledo.
Winners of three straight, the Griffins will host the Houston Aeros for back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
