Rangers Recall Kris Newbury from Whale

HARTFORD, January 24, 2013: Connecticut Whale general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have recalled forward Kris Newbury from the Whale.

Newbury, a tenth-year pro in his third full season with the Ranger organization, leads the Whale club in points, goals and assists, with totals of 15-21-36 in 40 games. He is also second on the club in penalty minutes with 94.

The Whale continue a six-game homestand tomorrow night, Friday, January 25, hosting the Manchester Monarchs in a 7:00 PM game. Like all Friday-night Whale home games, that night features $1 hot dogs and $2 beers at the XL Center until the end of the first intermission.
