Manning to AHL All-Star Classic

The American Hockey League has announced that Adirondack Phantoms defenseman Brandon Manning has been added to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2013 Dunkin' Donuts AHL All-Star Classic to take place Sunday and Monday, January 27 and 28 in Providence, R.I.

Manning replaces Erik Gustafsson on the roster who is injured and will be unable to participate in what would have been his second AHL All-Star Classic. For the second-year pro, Manning, this will be his first AHL All-Star Classic.

The AHL All-Star Classic can be seen nationwide on various cable networks including Time Warner Cable Sports in Glens Falls (Channels 50 and HD-1803).

Manning, 22, signed with the Flyers in 2010 out of the Chilliwack Bruins program in the Western Hockey League where he had served as that team's captain. Manning is an alternate captain for the Phantoms this year. He joined the Adirondack Phantoms roster in December, 2010 and skated in 46 games with Adirondack that season scoring 6 goals and 13 assists.

He also played in 4 games with the Philadelphia Flyers last season making his NHL debut on March 8, 2012 against the Florida Panthers.

This year with Adirondack, Manning has 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points in 37 games with 66 penalty minutes. Manning scored the first overtime game-winner of his professional career on October 28 at the Syracuse Crunch.
